PsychReport is a clinical case management tool for professionals in the field of psychology. Although the program seems to have a lot of useful features, it's ultimately undermined by its clunky interface.

We were turned off by the program almost immediately when we opened it and the creepy Microsoft Sam text-to-speech voice announced "PsychReport." From there, it only got worse; the program announces the name of each module as it's opened, and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn this annoying and pointless feature off. The main menu is a mix of icons and tiny text-only options, and the latter are so small that it's extremely difficult to click on the correct one. The program's features seem useful; there are ways to track patients, keep progress notes, manage groups, and more. The interface handles some of these options better than others, but overall, we can't say we were particularly impressed with anything about PsychReport. We do give the program credit for its detailed online Help file, which includes plenty of screenshots. But overall, we felt that the program was poorly designed, and what it supplies in psychology-specific features does not make up for its lack of basic usability. We feel certain that there are other programs with similar features that are better designed.

PsychReport is free to try, but the trial version does not allow users to print. The program installs a desktop icon without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We do not recommend this program.

Worst customer support and Sales department we ahev ever seen since years. They keep themselves totally anonymous. You may think that you are dealing with a one man show!

PLEASE READ THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THIS SOFTWARE BEFORE BUYING. Program does not work as advertised, live support is setup to encourage user to spend more money on their costly customizations.

I have already reviewed this in the previous version section, new version is the same. I will quote a fellow reviewer who has had a similar experience as me. " It has been almost a year and I have received an email from the company stating that my support period is up. That's fine right? But then the email says that the software will cease to work and I need to pay $100USD for continued "support" otherwise I will have to pay the cost of a new program. Sounds like black mail to me and under handed tactics to squeeze money. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

I've been using the PsychReport for 3 years now. I love it! It tracks my Patients and generate Invoices and Insurance Claim forms.

Have to renew for Technical Support and Updates every year.

This program has an attractive interface and has some great features such as customizing reports, altering drop down lists and so on. This means you can tailor it somewhat to your needs. The finance module is quite good and allows you to keep track of expenses, your income and so on. This program will do me for now inthe early stages of my business. I felt that it was value for money (but read cons below).
Cons
The biggest problem with this program is that you do not own the software key! This means that if you have to reinstall it, you need to contact the publishers to get another key. And if they have gone broke well too bad you have no way of reinstalling your program. This aspect makes the program over priced by about $100. The other problem are the bugs in the program - I did not think there were too many but they do exist. For example, when you print a receipt there is no way to print it in A5 size as the program seems to cut off the edges. The absence of a detailed manual means you are figuring things out for yourself which makes customizing reports and templates very difficult. Also, there is no warranty and the agreement mentions that any problems are not the responsibility of Mdansby - this is very poor form and I think has no legal basis. Finally, the support at Mdansby is lacking as well as what I consider a poor attitude. They threatened to deactivate my account when I advised I would be taking legal action if they did not respond to my emails. It's a shame that they have this attitude and behaviour towards client service as with some more work the program would be very good. My suggestion is to stay away for now and spend the money on a more expensive program which comes with a good warranty and support.

Lots of great features promised.

This application is a moving target of bugs and errors. I am an experienced IT person, and I can't get it to function properly. If I get it working with the help of Mdansby and patches, I'll retract this and post my new opinion, but for now - stay away from this product!
