This app has been developed from international research into beginning reading. This includes The Independent Rose Review of the Teaching of Early Reading in the UK (https://www.education.gov.uk/publications/standard/publicationDetail/Page1/DFES-0201-2006). It is important to assess a concept once it is taught as this is the only way that you can be sure that your child has grasped the concept. Smar-test builds on the words introduced in the apps Profs Phonics 1 and Profs Phonics 2, also by Doc Ruth.
