• Elegant in its simplicity, Print Window is brilliant!

  Simple to use User can configure it to expand folders or not as needed Use it to keep a catalogue of non-mounted external drives (Which drive was that on again?) From interface to execution, it is simply done right. Well worth the license.

  Cons

  That it is a hidden gem. I wish I had found it sooner.

  Summary

  Print Window is a perfect example of the right way to create an app. It has everything the user needs, and nothing he/she doesn't, all in a simple to use interface.

  The only con is I wish this existed a long time before!

  Summary

  If you ever have to reinstall everything from scratch, you can use this to print out all your installed apps (with icons in color!) so you can check them off.

Caveat: I'm writing this in the first flush of accomplishing what I set out to do just after downloading the software; which automatically ran it in Advanced mode. Haven't seen how it does in basic mode yet, waiting to see what comes out once my 30-day free trial of Advanced mode expiresâ?¦

I've tossed preferences, repaired permissions, reinstalled, but it continues to crash every time I try to use it. A useful piece of software when working, though!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />than copying the list of files to a text document. I need the icons, the kind, the size, and the date of each document. I need the subfolders listed too. Try that with the copy and paste method. I agree that it is a bit of overkill, but the basic mode is free, so lets not complain. Even if you pay for the advanced mode, it is cheap, and then it does things that Apple never did with their built in command in OS 9, like print a CD cover.

Printing a Finder window is about as simple as it gets, which is why it's so frustrating that Apple got rid of it. It would be nice if this app simply replaced the missing OS feature, but unfortuantely it is trying to do too much. I think 99% of the time, a simple old-style Print Window page is all anybody wants. But this app forces you through a lot of windows, options, and settings. It is also 4.4MB, and it uses 10.6 MB RAM (!!!) on my machine, even when idle. That's twice as much as Mail.app, for a Print Window function.

It really is unbelievable that Apple still haven't added a way to easily print a finder window. Forget all the new features in Tiger and give us what would be genuinely useful. The print CD cover feature is a real timesaver. Many options allow the print output to be completely customised. Highly Recommended.
