Enhance inpatient coding and ensure the DRG with the highest reimbursement is selected.

This is accomplished by re-sequencing diagnosis codes into every possible combination. PrimeDRG can re-sequence most accounts in less than 3 seconds. Once completed, the coder can select each possible combination to pick the one that is valid. This is critical as not all combinations will be valid per coding rules. By quickly calculating many possible Principal Diagnosis combinations and displaying the potential DRGs a coder can make an informed decision. It is far too common that the wrong principal diagnosis is selected in a case simply because the proper sequencing of diagnosis codes is a time consuming process. Many times the same "proven" sequence is used repeatedly. This system is designed specifically to reduce data entry. You can copy and paste codes from spreadsheets, text files, then turn around and copy and paste them back into most programs.
