The best cost effective software to track your defects/bugs/problems

Pros
This is the best Defect Tracking System I have ever seen. <p> <p>Its simple, easy to understand and implement. Moreover you can download (17.5 MB) and use all the functionalities free (limited to entry of 400 bugs.) <p> <p>Almost all fields, views (each user can modify view of bugs, like fields, placement , etc. according to his will) and reports are customizable. Options are there to add custom fields. <p> <p>You can also define workflows, ranging from 2 steps to 6 steps for bug closure. Its all so simple. <p> <p>Its web based so you can even setup to be used on Intranet and even via internet so that clients can directly reports problems. <p> <p>Links to your mailing system easily. Mails are genereated automatically to the concerned person based upon the life cycle of the defect <p> <p>Logs planned and actual hrs for bug closure. <p> <p>Database is MS Access but don't worry, you can use SQL too. <p> <p>Connection (File-Server or Client-Server) is based on COM, so no connection probs using ODBC. <p> <p>More than 100 Global (Fortune) are using this software. You can see the detailed list on the site. Thousands of companies are using the same. <p> <p>Even though I was just using the evaluation version, the customer support is terrific. Though there are various in built reports available yet on request they made some new reports based upon the new and customized fields. Customer support is really helpful. I could not get through telephone ever, (Except for once)but ya through mails all my queries were resolved to utmost satisfaction. <p> <p>They also gave me an extension to add more than 400 bugs to check the stability and performance for the product to its full extent. I tested this product for full 2 months before I bought it. <p> <p>I have implemented this software for not only bug tracking but also logging the change request by clients and for Non-Complinaces for the Quality Audits. <p> <p>This software is simply great. Do give it a try if you are looking for a problem/bug/defect traffic system with a workflow.Its really worth the money you spend.
Cons
Crystal Reports 8.X is used to customize reports, so its difficult to find an older version of crystal reports and add new reports. (Adding of new reports is very easy) <p> <p>Customer service usually don't pick up phone. (Through mails its really fast) <p> <p>Though status of bug can be seen project wise. Option should be given to see the status of the bugs company wide i.e Status for all the bugs for all the projects at single go.
