• small client but lack some critical important features

  the download latest email downloads all email not starting with latest first but starting with oldest first.

  Summary

  not very useful and doesnt include SSL. if you use the wrong SSL library SSL will not work but it doesnt prompt you what is the problem.

  Very clean fast GUI Clear indication as to which accounts have new emails - and how many TotalSize field useful if you have a quota. Ability to download up to X bytes initially, & everything on load Fast at downloading Seach Excellent Help File

  It checks the accounts one at a time, not simultaneously. Stops Everything on error (e.g server not found)

  It checks the accounts one at a time, not simultaneously. Not a problem, just means if your waiting for an email you cant just hit 'Check' and see - you have to wait for it to check every account After you add an account you have to manually tell it to download existing emails - not just new ones. Could be a pro or a con, it's annoyed me because i've just added my 8 accounts and have to do them all. But I can see why I might appreciate the choice after adding an account. If it cant find the server it gives you a dialogue error and waits for you to hit OK - it would be nice for it to retry - or at least keep checking the other accounts. The text-based configuration file makes mass editing and backing up your settings easy as cake.

  Pros

  Fast, Free. Very safe. Portable. Handles multiple email accounts.

  Cons

  No longer maintained actively by the vendor. Still, this version is mature.

  Summary

  Great program. It is, however, not a full featured email client.
