Podcast Autocue can be used to create WordPerfect Podcasts, Vidcasts, and Audio Books. All you have to do is type your script out in a text editor like Notepad, load it into the software and you're good to go. It's incredibly simple to use - you'll be up and running in 5 minutes thanks to the built-in Help file. Uninstall is simple, via the Add and Remove Programs option in your Control Panel.

Pros
Easy copy-paste method, accepts LOTS of text unlike some other free teleprompter software, no installation required (uses web browser to function), on-the-fly adjustments by mouse or keyboard. Free version seems not to be a Trial version.
Cons
Speed increments could be smaller (ex: # 3 is too fast, 2 is too slow, 2.5 would be right), eye-line indicator is not movable on the free version. Portable version update is the same v. 1.1, though the website says v. 2.0 is what's gonna download..
Summary
All in all a very good setup. (See pros and cons above.) Other info, that may be cons to some users: all text is white on black; no choice of fonts, only helvetica (arial?); text highlight function barely functions. Info that may be pros: seems will work on any web browser (I've tried it on Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer); once text is loaded, you can save it as an .htm file, and when opened, remembers the text, the font size, and the speed setting. Unfortunately, going this route means the loss of keyboard controls, but mouse controls still work. (Seems you've got to open fresh --blank text/edit mode--for any keyboard controls to load.) Also, text will not be loaded into the editor, tho it will play. In short, it's made to start with a blank page, in editor mode, and being able to save may or may be more of a hindrance than a help. Create your text in Word, wordpad, or even notepad, save it that way, and just copy all the text over to easyprompter.

Pros
As an author just starting to use video podcasts for my Facebook fanpage, I needed an autocue with an intuitive interface that was quick to learn and functioned perfectly. Podcast Autocue fits the bill. You won't be disappointed.

No cons. It's brilliant. Thank you so much to the developers for providing this wonderful software free of charge.

An easy to use WYSIWYG teleprompter. the $25 profession vesion had updates <p>and stuff - as well as his book "PodCasting for Fun and Profit" - superb for ANY <p>studio! Why can't all s/w be like this???? <p> <p>Also can be used for I/A performances as a text scroller, etc. <p> <p>fleeding@hotmail.com

The front end of the free version is pretty sparse, and you have to use the help <p>screen - but as a free give-away/come-on-and-buy: Really superb! (tips towel to author!).

Well, seeing as that I couldn't get the program to work, I can't really say anything positive about it. It looked really complicated though. To make podcasts, I'd suggest going to podbean cause this program is a waste of hard drive space.
