Pocket Tanks Deluxe is an artillery game that's easy to learn and difficult to master. Available from iTunes, Pocket Tanks Deluxe is a free download, but additional add-on packs with various capabilities are sold for 99 cents each for those aficionados who want to extend their gameplay.

The Pocket Tanks Deluxe graphics are pretty simple, but they work in the context of the game. You're presented with a few simple controls for angling your artillery, then you lob shells at the enemy, trying to wipe them out before they get to their targets. You can clobber them directly, or get indirect and bury them in mud and dirt. There's an assortment of weaponry -- 100 different pieces, in fact, each with different characteristics for you to master. You can move your pieces around the map to get the best angle, and use the bouncy ground to skip shells where you need them. While rudimentary in both appearance and gameplay, this can be an addictive game for those who like challenges.

We expected to get tired of Pocket Tanks Deluxe quickly, but that didn't happen. Even when we put it away, we wanted one more round. Despite its seemingly simple rules and goals, you'll probably find yourself returning to Pocket Tanks Deluxe over and over.

Bug fixes.

This update brings our Online functions from a third party Backend as a Service supported framework to a BlitWise maintained AWS hosted server infrastructure. This should provide greater flexibility in the future, and players should not see any disruption in game play or functionality. However, some errors may occur with a change of this magnitude.
