Pixelformer is a free icon editor designed for creating and modifying icons with ease. It supports various image formats and allows users to work with layers, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced designers. The program enables the creation of icons from scratch or by importing images, offering flexibility in design. Icons can be generated in multiple sizes ranging from 16x16 to 256x256 pixels, accommodating a range of applications.
However, Pixelformer has limitations, including a limited set of editing tools. While it supports layers, it lacks advanced features such as cropping and extensive zoom options. The interface is dark and does not offer customization options. Users looking for filters or special effects may find the tool lacking in this regard. Overall, Pixelformer provides essential functionality for icon editing but may not meet the needs of those requiring more advanced capabilities.
