Developer’s Description

Ping single, groups, and ranges of IP's using IPv4 and IPv6 protocols.
Ping-xPert is a network tool that enables the user to set various configurations to ping network components, such as single IP, group of IP's, and ranges of IP's. Results can be viewed, copied, or printed. Grouped ping addresses can be saved and retrieved for future use. Network administrators are able to send pings to individual addresses, to a group of addresses, or to a range of addresses. Each of these three ping environments are organized in one screen for ease-of-use. The ping protocol can be IPv4 or IPv6. The ping processes are all dispatched asynchronously, resulting in a fast turn-around of even thousands and thousands of ping requests. Ping results can be viewed online in a user friendly grid, printed, and copied to files and Office Product software applications. The display grid is user configurable. The print-preview option lets the user decide what and when to print. A significant time-saver is the ability to create groups of ping addresses, saving and retrieving them for later repeat use. Being able to pull ping addresses together, and have all addresses pinged at the same time allows the user to observe networks under simulated loads. The interface for all three ping options, single / group / range, allows the input of either IP addresses or host names. Host names are resolved automatically against all DNS servers, and often show IP addresses that other ping tools don't. Static and dynamic addresses on the same equipment are being resolved. IP addresses are resolved to 'find' layer 2 and 3 addresses / equipment, such as resolving names via NetBIOS DNS's. The utility also lets the user to set a number of ping attribute values, such as TTL, buffer size, Time Out and ping count to allow modeling of real-life traffic. Using Ping-xPert's many ping options and copy / print output will help anetwork administrator to analyze the underlying network symptoms and behavior.
