This screensaver delivers nice-quality images, but due to its small library of photos and lack of features, most users likely will quickly lose interest. Before going any further, we should note that both the user-license agreement and the nag screen haven't been translated from German, although this may not bother some folks. Photos of German Castles provides exactly what its title promises, with around 20 shots of interiors, exteriors, and floor plans. However, due to the lack of captions, we were never sure exactly what castle we were looking at. Also, since you can't determine the image interval, apply transitions, or view the photos in a different order, the screensaver grows monotonous after a couple of runs. We also never successfully got the audio to work, even though we found a check box for disabling it. If you don't want to spend any money, this freebie might be worth a cursory glance, but we doubt it will ever become your main screensaver.
