Pros

Start broadcasting in three steps: In Periscope, just hit the Broadcast button in the bottom rail, add a title, and tap Start Broadcast.

Interactive experience: Audiences can send broadcasters questions, comments, and hearts mid-broadcast and get verbal responses back.

Better Twitter integration: With the most recent update, both live and replay broadcasts are now integrated directly into tweets, which puts these broadcasts before an even wider audience.

Great privacy features: When broadcasting on Periscope, you can hide your location, share to only a specified audience, and choose whether to share your posts to Twitter. You can also limit interactions when broadcasting to users you follow.

Cons

Replays are available for only 24 hours: Catch a broadcast within 24 hours of its original airing or you won't be able to watch it.

Broadcasts can get too full: If too many people are watching a broadcast, then the ability to message the presenter is closed to new participants.

Poor search: Outside of finding current broadcasts by poster's region (Map view) or by most recent (List view), there is no other way to search for streams you want to see. It would be helpful if we could search by category or language, for example.

Bottom Line

Periscope provides an often fascinating, intimate glimpse into the lives of everyone from public figures to the general public. A better search tool would make the app even more engaging.
