PeerGuardian 2 is an IP blocker for Windows. With features like support for multiple lists, a list editor, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP), PeerGuardian 2 is the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P. Plus, by integrating with Blocklist.org, lists are built custom just for you.
It will block the addresses of known IP addresses.
Provides gullible users with the illusion of anonymity.
Cons
It does not protect you from the software, music or video firms tooking to sue.
It fools people into thinking they are safe thus exposing them to greater risks.
Summary
People like the RIAA employ consultants to track down people spreading copywrited works. There is no evidence they do this from their own location or known IP addesses. If they wish to circumvent this application all they need to is to use a different IP, do it from home, employ a contractor or a 100 other obvious methods. The idea that you can get around their investigations by blocking a few known IP addresses is laughable. Thinking you are protected when you are not is worse than simply not being protected.

SparkyFlary
Pros
This thing works and it's great for just about anyone whether your using p2p or not.
Cons
It sometimes messes up and its successor PeerBlock, I think, is replacing it.
Summary
PeerBlock is the exact same thing but newer. Get that instead.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jan 12, 2010<p/>It works for p2p and non p2p users.
Outdated Abandonware
jrunri
Pros
It was and still is a great program for older systems like Win98. If it works on your system, it provides a valuable security function. It was a valuable program and PeerBlock wouldn't exist without it.
Cons
Was always a bit buggy on XP and, especially, Vista but it was never fully developed for newer systems...
Summary
This is outdated and has been superseded by PeerBlock which is built on PeerGaurdian's source code but is much more compatible with newer versions of Windows.
Good, but really too buggy.

Pros
What's to say? If you need a P2P IP Blocker, than this is about it in terms of being built for just such a use. I'm sure it works great, its easy as pie to setup not a very large program.
Cons
The list slowly stop working and render the program pointless and useless.
Summary
I downloaded this program with high expectations. A friend had told me about it and that it was a must* if you are on P2P networks alot. I'm not a huge P2P'r, but I do enjoy the assurance of surfing safely. It worked great for a few months. You turn it on and it tries to auto update...and as expected over the last few months of using it, it has stopped updating its lists. Offering little or no protection at all. Maybe its just my computer, maybe its just my copy of the program but as soon as I am done writing this, I'm going to uninstall it and start looking for another.

If it downloaded and worked that WOULD be great
Cons
The download link, here on Download.com and the publisher's site are both not working. I added both sites to my trusted list, and still nothing.
