If you're willing to tackle this application's unintuitive interface, you'll find a handy set of tools for locating and managing PDF files. PDFSearcher's busy interface offers a confusing jumble of buttons and tabs that let you search, view, and manage PDF files, but will most likely require a trip to the help file before you can get started. You can limit your search using the standard parameters of filename, size, and date, but the program also supports Boolean and regular-expression search strings. Results can be saved to a text file for future reference. You also can view, delete, or move selected PDF files, and the program includes a tool to convert them into text or HTML formats, although the trial version limits you to 10 conversions and only translates half the file. In testing, PDFSearcher's file-management tools worked well, and searches returned accurate results but made the computer a bit sluggish when searching an entire drive. Though we advise novices to look for a more user-friendly option, this application offers more advanced users (with a bit of patience) several ways to manage PDF files.
