Used PCMesh Data Recovery and Wipe for Windows?
Editors’ Review
Quickly scan your system drives for recoverable deleted files. PCMesh Data Recovery and Wipe's very simple pull-down interface houses straightforward functions to scan, wipe, or recover files from your drives. You do have a little flexibility to choose a drive, and a helpful menu to search for files based on various attributes.
This tool quickly scans a drive for recoverable deleted files, and potentially recoverable files are listed in the common file tree format. However, most folders are merely identified by number rather than name. Recovering a file is a simple matter of choosing it from the list and selecting Recover from the pull-down menu. The program helpfully reminds users not to recover files to their original drive, but doesn't force the issue.
We didn't like the delete tool's function. It appears to follow the same method as recovering a file, but choosing the Delete button wipes all deleted files rather than the chosen file. The program's extremely thin online help covers pricing more thoroughly than program functions.
Some testers found subsequent scans in a session were slower than their first scan. However, we didn't find this application hogged memory or CPU cycles. The file-recovery field is crowded and PCMesh Data Recovery and Wipe doesn't stand out in any way. Still, it does perform adequately during its short five-day test, and its simplicity will appeal to some users with minor file-recovery needs.
