• Can't get any easier

  Pros

  Watched a video on YouTube & then watched it again and paused while I did each step. Got a working board in around 30 minutes. Now have the confidence to add to it with ease.

  Cons

  Just started using it so none so far.

  Summary

  Any one who can read a schematic can use this. You cannot beat the price, ease of use and functionality for any small project. I am 56 years young & I love it!

• Easier than Eagle/Gerber

  Pros

  A great way to get boards made quickly. My undergrad students had this app up and running in about ten minutes, and their project submitted the same day. They are already planning their next project. Great for .edu use, and Bay Area Circuits has tremendous customer service. Outside of class-- since the app is a free download, collaborating engineers on a project can for once all use the same version of board CAD, and final art is submitted as a single file. No more hunting for that missing gerber file, or mixing two different board versions' files. PCB Creator will import gerber files, if you already have a board done in another package but want to submit it via this convenient format. Once submitted, Bay Area Circuits will reply quickly with a complete DFM report including pdf "proof" art of the board design for your approval.

  None that I encountered.

  Summary

  I tell my students that when it comes to implementing their designs, "The World is Your Printer", and the PCB Creator / Bay Area Circuits pipeline is a fine example. The engineer with a laptop computer can create something entirely new while sitting in a coffee house, and have the results in hand with unprecedented speed.
