• This has proved to be a good basic keyboard

  Pros

  Once downloaded remember to first put it into Finder in order to locate the program. Once this is done I found it easy to locate, run and use. It produces a very realistic Grand piano sound set to Concert pitch (A440). I found PC 73 useful to tune my Clavichord, but would be equally ideal for tuning any stringed instrument. The ability to 'transpose' across the whole range means that, as in my case I wanted to tune to (A415) that is more suitable for 'low tension' instruments such as the Clavichord. This is easily achieved by transposing by -1, effectively changing GG to F". By this means I was able to tune all 59 keys using this program

  Cons

  There is a slight delay between pressing the key and hearing the note. The Sticky key 'short cut' function utilises 'Shift' to represent to GG note and if it pressed 4 times in succession the program then activates the 'Short cut' menu. Although this can be deactivated, its slightly annoying. It would have been preferable to have designate another non-piano keyboard key for this function.

  Summary

  I was looking for a basic keyboard with good quality sound to tune each individual key on my instrument and this certainly 'does the job' Thanks

• Entertainment tool to use

  Pros

  The software generates the sound on all Windows operating system with its inbuilt General Midi software synthesizer.

  Cons

  On the downside, the utility does not allow users to save the musical compositions to a file.
