If you have trouble keeping track of your passwords and PINs, you'll appreciate Password Crypt Professional 2004. It keeps your logins and data in an encrypted file, which you unlock with a master password. The interface is not beautiful, but it does provide predesigned folders that store passwords for e-mail, ATM cards, credit cards, and various Web sites. When creating a new entry, Password Crypt Professional 2004 lets you add your username, password, URLs, and any pertinent notes. We can't say for sure whether encrypted passwords can be hacked, as the application doesn't specify which secure algorithm it uses. Also, we would have appreciated the ability to encrypt files and folders, and we missed the inclusion of a secure file shredder. However, a utility that generates alphanumeric passwords of up to 15 characters is a nice, unexpected bonus. Whether you have a bad memory or work on a shared computer, Password Crypt Professional 2004 can provide safe, reliable storage of your sensitive data.
