Used Flexcrypt for Windows?
Editors’ Review
Flexcrypt offers people the opportunity to encode e-mails and IM chats, so unauthorized users cannot read the information. There are many situations where this capability may prove useful in home and business, however, users are advised to read the Help file before using Flexcyrpt Free to get the best results.
This unlimited-use download operates from a simple control panel that allows the user to write encoded messages. Tabs separate various functions, allowing the user to simply encrypt text or to send encrypted text via e-mail or instant messenger. Creating this secret language is as simple as entering text into the box and selecting a button that automatically encrypts after a password is chosen. The first tab allows you to encrypt text and copy it into any application. The second lets you enter e-mail addresses so that all communications will be encrypted. With the designated password, recipients can decipher the text whether they have Flexcrypt Free installed or not, as long as they're using a local e-mail client (and not a Web-based e-mail client, such as Yahoo). The third is for IMs, and recipients will need to have a copy of the program installed to read encrypted messages.
While we liked the tabbed approach for the key functions and found the program easy to use overall, the Help file is a must for users new to encryption programs. That said, Flexcrypt Free lets users rest a little easier knowing their communications are safe from prying eyes.
