If you design, develop, or architect Websites or other GUI-based software applications, then OverSite is the app you've been waiting for... even if you didn't know it! With OverSite, you can quickly define your site or application's structure. Creating wireframe mockups of your pages and screens is also a breeze. You can attach notes to your wireframes to provide further details. Once you're done, OverSite will auto-generate a structure map of your site or application, and will allow you to export to a number of different formats.

Just the automatic site-mapping feature alone has saved me from many an hour tweaking hand-drawn illustrations. It would be great if the site maps could be a little more customizable than they already are, but that's a small nit.

And then there's the wireframing. Hands down, this program is the best way to do wireframes. Just make sure you make use of the "versions" and "exceptions" stuff; that's where I've found myself saving a lot of time.

The only other wish I have is for a direct export-to-PDF functionality. But then again, since I'm running this on OSX, using OSX's print to PDF functionality works just as well; it just adds one more step.

For only $35, this program is a no-brainer for web designers as far as I'm concerned. I don't know why they don't charge ten times as much.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I work for a web and multimedia design firm. We typically used to use Illustrator for mapping out our websites which, while it allowed us precise design control, took for freakin' ever to do. And if we needed to make changes (no, not "if", but "when"), it was a real pain.
Using Oversite, on the other hand, has really shortened the amount of time it takes us to create website maps and, probably more importantly, to make changes and maintain them. This program also has a really handy feature that lets you import an existing website... it will automatically map it out, which has really helped us.
Do I wish it allowed us fnier design control over the maps that we create? Sure. But for the money, will we continue to use Oversite for pretty much every website projcet we work on? You bet!
A good idea - but this doesn't do it

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Graphically designing the whole layout of a website is a good idea. Doing it in this program is clumsy.
Right away this program gives the impression of an amateur programmer. It does not have spit and polish. It does not do much either.
If you are building a website that is complicated enough to require graphic layout planning, then you already know how to do more than this program can do with your existing web tools. It is not that difficult to mock up a site in Dreamweaver, Freeway or any other program.
To add insult, this barely useful program throws up an 11 second annoy-ware dialog every now and then. That's the last nail in the coffin. No way is this worth $15.
