OpenMyZip for Windows

This free file compression application has a very user-friendly interface, but a glitch prevented it from extracting any files.

OpenMyZip has a simple, straightforward user interface. There, youll find basic command buttons for creating a new zip file, opening a zip file, and extracting items from a zip file. Drop-down menus give you the option of adding comments to the files, and setting password protection. Unfortunately for us, we were never able to experience these features. We were able to successfully open a zip file, but when we tried to add or extract files, we received the same error message each time. If you need assistance, you wont have much luck with the Help feature -- it takes you to the publishers Web site, which is full of ads and nothing else.

Despite the appealing interface, this compression tool is a dud. We recommend that you overlook this one for one that works.
