NoteWorthy Player allows you to load and play Noteworthy Composer files created by the NoteWorthy Composer. You also can load, play, and notate standard MIDI and RMI files (Type 1 for best results), play song files in continuous (loop) play, and follow audio play with highlighted notes. NoteWorthy Player Version 1.75 adds support for NoteWorthy Composer 1.75.
It lays the music out in front of you and if that isn't enough as the midi music plays the notes turn red. Also it displays multiple instruments
Cons
I wish the scrolling was a bit smoother
Summary
Very good
The SM
Pros
This played MIDIs with musical notes, and that works very well for me. This is the best program I've seen that plays MIDIs for free. There's even a 16-bit version for Windows 3.1!
Cons
Not enough features. If more features were added, such as multiple songs in one window (like in NoteWorthy Composer) and the possibility to mute a staff, then it is a product that I would recommend over shareware MIDI players.

Especially early music, folk music or sacred music, the application with plug-in for browser is great.
Not for notating music...

Summary
You HAVE to use a midi port to write music with this program. If you don't, it will be virtually usless and will take up space on your harddrive. If you have a Midi port, this might be okay...but from the lack of options I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Just cool

I am not exactly a musician, but I found the midi import a great way to learn the chords of songs. Its really good at writing music too.
