Overwrite hard-drive free space with random numbers to help complicate deleted file recovery with this simple freeware app. No File Recovery's dialog-sized interface needs only a single pull-down list and a pair of buttons for program operation. You're not going to need a manual to figure out this app.

Operating No File Recovery takes only a couple of clicks. You merely use the pull-down to select a drive, and press the Begin button. This app proceeds to lay down random numbers free block by free block. It isn't lightning fast, but a percentage completed indicator helps users gauge program finish. It's easy to stop the app before completion and restart the process at another time. However, the app can't return to the point where it was interrupted. Program speed is improved if all other apps are closed during the process.

Overwriting free space and deleted files with random numbers may not stop the FBI from recovering your deleted files, but No File Recovery should block nearly anyone else from uncovering your deleted data.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Simple and free to use; quick to download with no irritating adware, malware or other programs wrapped up within it (unlike other free 'disk wipe' software I tried). Keeps you updated on progress. Only 'wipes' the files you have already deleted - perfect application if, like me, you are simply looking to dispose of or re-cycle your old laptop.
Cons
Probably wont pass MI5 or CIA tests! - but will suffice if you are only cleaning up your own old home PC

Simple software - great option for preventing anyone recovering your deleted files before you dispose of your laptop or PC - recommended.

Pros
writes .dat files to disk, then deletes them when it is done.
Cons
Takes several hours for a 1/3rd of a Terabyte drive, % remaining seems to only see internal hard drive, not external drive.

Pros
Used it dozens of times, so far, with no problems* Does what it says in the tin, Simply, efficiently and super-fast. and. "Absolutely-no frills" ~style interface. (Doesn't need them.)
Cons
*One tiny point that may account for some user-gripes: If you find that it does not work (I use Vista, btw) it's because you must right-click and choose the "Run as Administrator" option. On doing that, it should sail through the job. I emailed the company about that, but since I have not downloaded an upgrade I don't know if they corrected it.

Highly recommended. Am still using the program.
It removes dll's and other system articles so watch it.

I found it very simple and easy to use, just choose your drive and click a button, then let it go, nice also that it shows the percent complete. takes a little while to run but I expected that of coruse. Was much simpler then I was even expecting.

Cannot tell pros, I open the freeware, click begin and poof I/O error 13xx something :/. I was able to uninstall using normal process but considering other messages I WILL CHECK for possible adware, spam stuffs and on...

Design is simply TERRIBLE!!!! It looks like back to windows 3.11 The link tips and tricks refers to some spyware/adware list or category by alphabetical order. I am not sure what was the intention since the freeware is to kill deleted files

Download and try... but at your own risk. Personally I tried 30 seconds and I deleted it.

Pros
This program is a bonus. It helped me to clean my hard drive of left over file fragments and deleted files. It is well-worth the time it takes to run it. (It takes about the same amount of time as does " DskScan" in the hard drive properties "Tools" menu.

This free software will wipe all open space on your hard drive, so previously deleted files can not be recovered. When you delete files from your pc, they can be recovered from your hard drive as the data is not physically removed. Many files that you thought were long gone, may be recovered by using undelete software, whether they are important documents, pictures or videos, tax documents, audio files, and more. If you are selling, donating, or giving away your pc, then this program is a must. Running this program will fill up and overlay your empty disk space with random characters, and any attempts at file recovery will be useless. This will not harm any existing data, your free space will remain the same when this has completed, but all previously deleted files that you have removed, will be permanently gone so they cannot be recovered. (Runs on all Windows systems.)
