Developer's Description

Monitor your TCP/IP network.
Network Ping is an application to visualize and monitor TCP/IP networks in Tree Topology Representation through a simple Windows Explorer style interface. You can Batch Ping Network hosts to verify IP connectivity, perform DNS IP Lookup of host names, resolve IP addresses into physical addresses through MAC Address Scanner, discover IP addresses through IP Range Scanner and gather Ping statistics.Key Features:Batch Ping:As soon as your network grows beyond a handful of hosts, monitoring the same by individually pinging all the hosts becomes a tedious task. Network Ping allows you to batch ping multiple hosts / multiple IP addresses configured as a part of a Network and display the ping status of individual hosts as nodes in the Network View.Tree View:Network Ping enables you to create a logical tree topology representation of your Network comprising of active and passive Network Devices and display the same in a Tree View similar to that of Windows Explorer. Tree topology being the native topology for the IP networks, this allows for much more realistic representation and effective monitoring of your IP Networks.IP Scanner:In IP Range Scan mode you can use Network Ping to scan IP addresses in the configured ranges for alive hosts on the network that respond to the ICMP echo request, and lists them under the respective Range nodes in the Network tree. The ranges can be any contiguous series of IP addresses viz subnets, supernets, and CIDR blocks.MAC Address Scanner:In MAC Address scan mode you can use Network Ping to lookup the MAC addresses (Physical addresses) through their IP addresses using the ARP table maintained by Windows. The windows ARP table gets updated during each ping command using the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), and the resolved Physical addresses are also listed as a part of Node properties in Network Ping.Alerts and Reports:The Output pane shows the current progress of the ping process along with the response received from the host being pinged. The status pane displays the cumulative ping statistics for the host namely packets sent, packets received, packets lost, minimum round trip time, maximum round trip time, and average round trip time.
