  "Return to Tarawa-the Leon Cooper Story", an award-winning documentary, reveals the shameful cover up byf the Department of Defense. Not many Americans know how many WWII dead still lie where they fell. Leon Cooper WWII vet tells the sorry story.

  Summary

  A WWII vet returns to the scene of his first battle experience--the battle of "Bloody Tarawa", fought in 1943, and while there learns that hundreds of Americans--including a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient--still lie there in unmarked graves. And our government had dome nothing about this disgrace to the memory of the fallem--nothing, that is, until this film, "Return to Tarawa-the Leon Cooper Story," made it "necessary" to send an investigative team to find, identify and repatriate the remains of all of the Americans who died in defense of our country. Hopefully, this may lead to the repatriation of the remains of the many thousands more WWII MIAs.
