A Netflow traffic server is included, that integrates network traffic flow data from a range of devices using all popular protocols like: IPFix, NetFlow (v5 & v9), JFlow, netStream, CFlow, AppFlow, sFlow, rFlow and Cisco NBAR.NetCrunch Suite supports all SNMP versions including version 3 with support for version 3 traps. It uses the SNMP protocol to monitor routers, switches, printers, firewalls, sensors, and other network devices. Along with over 8500 included MIBs, NetCrunch also features a MIB compiler so you can easily add new MIBs to the program library.Open Monitor gives you easy way to connect data from any source, be it an application or a device. It allows for the easy delivery of any counter data to NetCrunch Suite. It can be a script (i.e, VBScript, PowerShell, Javascript) running on the NetCrunch Server or an application. Data can also be sent to NetCrunch from any remote system simply using REST API.With over 160 predefined Monitoring Packs for operating systems and SNMP manageable network devices, NetCrunch can identify, configure, and begin monitoring your network's devices out of the box. Baseline thresholds and range triggers learn your network and alert you to unexpected changes. Monitoring dependencies prevent alert floods.
We have been using NetCrunch for monitoring our network and systems for a few years and are very satisfied. The network maps are fantastic, and we can monitor VMWare, NetFlow, apps, and our SNMP devices in one package. Great product.
Cons
Would like the mobile client to be more comprehensive
Summary
Agentless, easy layout, easy self-discovery

Pros
Easy to operate, network map easy to read. Discovering new devices, and pinpointing trouble nodes is a snap. Event correlation, VMware ESXi monitoring & custom alerts are what separates this monitoring services from the competition.
Cons
It's mainly written for small to mid sized networks. As long as you have 3500 nodes, or less you will be ok.
Summary
We first came across NetCrunch a few years back. Right away we fell in love with it. The network discovery process is very straight forward; also classifying different hardware was easy with NetCrunch. Our network consists of many industrial Servo drivers, VoIP adapters, sensors, access points, and switches - yet that was no match for NetCrunch.

Summary
Great for monitoring several remote sites, excellent for network documentation

Pros
I manage a LAN of over 200 users over a WAN to 6 different remote sites. With NetCrunch I have been able to show reports to AT&T when we have problems that they have not been able to detect. I've also been able to show them where we have had some router configuration table errors. Since I rely very heavily on documentation to manage my network, NetCrunch mapping utility is a wonderful way to both document then network as well as identify connectivity issues. This tool alone has saved me both the time and expense of having to travel to my remote sites on many occasions.
<p>Plus, it does not restrict the number of devices I want to monitor.
Cons
Physical maps do not always recognize devices properly. You need pretty modern workstation to use it effectively.

Best network maps and good monitoring

Pros
Excellent tool for multiplatform monitoring and fault alerting. Really nice view of my network, and easy to understand what parts are acting up. It didn't take much to install and get it up and running. I like advanced WinNT and SNMP management features
