...application
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
A year ago I wrote that:
"I purchased myNotes almost as a kind of stop-gap rather than to be anything significant. But its convenience for note taking and snippet storing (including BIG snippets) has been terrific, as has its ability to handle RTFD nicely. . . Overall, then, a small program that does what it says it will and does it quite well."
All that continues to be true; I wouldn't be without myNotes.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is a powerful software ! It does what you want : I use it to write my ideas and things to do. I write them in different groups and different notes that I can sort manually as I want. There is also Spotlight integration. Before I used Post-it software integrated with Mac OsX but I wasn't sufficient for my needs ! A must have !
Very handy, convenient

But its convenience for note taking and snippet storing (including BIG snippets) has been terrific, as has its ability to handle RTFD nicely. To my own surprise, I've abandoned iClip, which is itself pretty handy, in favor of myNotes. Overall, then, a small program that does what it says it will and does it quite well.
Truckstopboy's one-star rating is so far off the mark â?? apparently a comment on his irritation rather than on the software â?? that I wanted to add this review

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I am a user of Notational Velocity. That program is used to keep track of patient telephone interactions. That database is nearly 1000 notes. NV works flawlessly in retrieving any name, date or morsel of information, instantly. Unfortunately, the program is not being updated. I came to mynotes because it looked like the next iteration of a text note manager.
myNote easily accepted the 1000 text notes NV exported. It quickly resorted notes in three categories as I had configured-- this is a plus for managing multiple categories/ideas.
The deal-killer is searching-- it is not real-time. period. typing in a word and hitting return is not the way an, 'instant,' text manager should work. in fact in two installs, the program would never return anything at all.
For text snippets or extended notes, it has to be real-time to be really useful. The search mode must be at least in a category and over the entire database.
Printing is another area which shows promise. It would be very useful if the note-title printed as a header on each page. Extra bonus point IF the program would include a footer for a signature line-- this is missing.
Hope this review helps potential uses and the developer.
I'll include this program in my VT watch list because it does show promise.
