MusikCube is much more than an MP3 player, it is a music library. MusikCube supports MP3, MP4, WAV, WMV, AIFF, OGG, FLAC, APE, and CD audio file formats, among others. It also features an integrated CD ripper that helps you take control of your music from the start. MusikCube tries to stay as intuitive and attractive as possible without degrading the performance of your computer, as well as to be a functional part of your operating system.

The latest update adds a variety of new features and fixes, including the "Collected" library, customizable hot keys, a theme editor, and better volume control.

Pros
This is a simple player. nothing high and flashy it handles use with iPod and various mp3 players that most others will not support. This is NOT a video player. I say this because I notice people saying it wouldn't play videos. Read the description. I have used thix player on windows xp vista 7 and even on 8.1 now with absolutely no problems. I have not had any warnings of problem as reported by others using comodo anti virus.

If the developer is still around would be nice for a little update.

As I stated have been using this on every system (since it came out) since windows xp vista 7 and now 8.1. no bells and whistles. No themes colors to play with. DOES NOT SUPPORT VIDEO. Usable with most if not all MP3 players including iPod. I came about this through a cd so there was no problems I don't trust cNet at all since many programs were infected and corrupted my pc's in the past. Download at own discretion from here but be warned!!
Highjacked outlook express, free and fast program

Pros
Very light and played .flac files I recently downloaded seemlessly during the very short time i had it.
Cons
comodo firewall caught it using a dll to highjack outlook express. Not sure why it did this this but I worry that it is recording the questionable media I play and emailing this info (with my ISP address) to God knows where.! I uninstalled it. The zoom player I downloaded to play the .flacs seems safe so far.

1. uses less resources as compared to winamp/media player/jukebox/etc...<p>2. Can copy/manage any music files from your computer/ipod/cd in just seconds (10GB in 8seconds approx)<p>3. user friendly, simple plain format<p>4. Skin can be set to many transparency levels.

musikCube does what it claims: it delivers a great MP3 player and library management service at half the usual process requirement. It's also clean, intuitive, and easy to use. Heck, it might as well cure cancer.<p>In my tests on my 750 mhz machine, the program dipped in and out of 5 to 20 percent of my processor, which is a little under 200 mhz (peanuts for most people). Simply put, unless you are really crunched for space and speed, this program will deliver a good, robust experience that doesn't slow down your computer at all. In fact, for gamers or internet browsers who like to have multiple programs running, it's perfect.<p>It also has a great interface, which doesn't look amazing at first glance. It's a bland program when you first start it up, and it appears that way for a while. But the program really shows it's chops at how well it controls, and how easy it is to select and playlist songs. It's actually like iTunes (but without the suck) making it a great program for even newbies and vets alike.
Cons
The program is definitely in it's 1.0 version: in the last hour I have used it, it crashed several times (hint: don't change songs too fast. Wait a few seconds or pause the one you are on). It's also missing that usual layer of polish that you expect from more of the big name programs, like Winamp. It's also a little bit lacking in the sound department. If you turn on the equalizer the music sounds fine, if not better than some other programs, but on it's own accord music can sound tinny and less than the usual fullness you expect.<p>But those points are very minor; by and large musikCube succeeds in making a great little program that played your MP3 collection, and does it well.

Very fast library, can easily handle the largest of media libraries. Very light, loads instantly, only uses 1-6mb of memory. Dunno what the CNET review was talking about because search works perfectly. Has plugins, such as last.fm support.

Volume is terrible the worst I ever heard in a computer mp3/media player <p>High memory usage lower than most mediaplayers though, but still sort of high. <p>Crossfade, I have not found the option to change this yet <p> <p> <p>Basically if the volume is normal this would be the player of my choice
