Manage files with multi-tabbed, dual panel alternative to Windows Explorer.
Multi Commander is a multi-tabbed file manager that is an alternative to the standard Windows Explorer. It uses the very popular and efficient dual-panel layout. And has a everything you need in your daily work with files to make you work fast and efficient. It has all the standard features like a file manager has like copy, move, rename, view. But Multi Commanders big strength is the special features that allow you to do advanced task with ease. Like Auto-unpacking, auto-sorting, browse inside archives, workspace support, scripting, and searching.
Tons of choices and a lot of info about your files.
Can see your network and choose it.
You can choose between Command style, Windows style or Custom. This is the first manager I have seen that has this feature.
It is fast too.
And it is free! - Unbelievable...
Cons
I haven't come across any yet.
Have now tried around 50 different File Managers and they have all had issues
or faults. Either they could not see my network - how am I to use my NAS then? I know via the IP, but it is faster and nicer to use my file commander for everything concerning files - agree?
Or they only have windows style commands. That means remembering button combinations and loosing the ability to pause eg. moving large files - meaning freezing your PC until the moving has finished...
Summary
Even better than my favorite manager - Altap Salamander. That says a lot in my world. I have been using Salamander for 10 years now...
But this is better, more choices and more info. But the command style is near identical, so no learning curve for me here:D
I have mailed the developer about the option to have multiple panes like JustManager or Q-dir, but with Command style instead of Windows style - it would make this unbeatable and very much worth my money!
