MSNBuster helps you control MSN Messenger sessions and regulate computer usage by scheduling time restrictions, but tests revealed busted features. This parental control program's small, password-protected interface appears unprofessional due to a mix of foreign and misspelled words. Like comparable apps, this program lets you create schedules to determine computer access times. You can limit access to certain apps such as browsers, instant messengers, and P2P software. However, the access feature failed to work during our assessment. Happily, MSNBuster was able to enforce system shutdown, but it doesn't immediately go into action. The program gives users an unspecified lag time before shutting down, yet it doesn't give us the option to determine whether we want it to. The application's password protection isn't as stern as we'd like either since it can be easily uninstalled without the password. You won't find any reporting tools in here either. While some may like the free price tag, security-minded parents may want a more powerful and protective parental software.
