• VIRAL ADWARE - AVOID THIS JUNKWARE - DO NOT INSTALL!!!

  Easy, intuitive user interface. Extensive search engine across wide range of music sources. Quick downloads.

  Cons

  1) Deception by the publishers. (a) It is not brought to your attention that the installation insidiously defaults to install other junkware. Unless you read the install options VERY CAREFULLY, EVERY STEP of the way, MYFREEMP3 will install a heap of other software on your machine. You have to actively select "No, do NOT install"; (b) and even if you DO select "do NOT install" MYFREEMP3 WILL install adware that, as earlier contributors have stated, has all the characteristics of a virus, creating registry entries ad embedding itself so deeply within your system files that even a premium anti-virus package like AVG CANNOT REMOVE IT!! I spent half my weekend scouring the net to find a combination of tools to get rid of the crippling barrage of adware that began to appear immediately this crapware was installed. 2) MP3Jam lists audio that is clearly garbage - dudes bashing away in their parents' garage and the like - always at the end of the list, so why not simply discard it?

  Summary

  DO NOT BE MISLED by this stuff being referred to as "adware" - the popups are relentless, in an endless stream. They appear as sidebars, ticker tapes and middle of screen pop-overs that together will occupy up to half your screen real estate at times, making your user experience so miserable you will not want to use your machine. NB! This will be your fate not only when using MP3Jam - the advertising storm will interrupt all and every application you use - forever! Yes, there IS a "de-install" program: it WILL remove the MP3 app, however it WILL LEAVE YOU INFECTED WITH THE DEBILITATING ADVERTISING STORM. Until now, I have trusted CNET/Download.com to protect my interests by only presenting trustworthy applications in their catalogue. I will be more circumspect in future and now feel compelled to verify their opinion against other sites' reviews in future - a pity. MP3Jam is an embarrassment to CNET/Download.com with its present business model, which relies so heavily on advertising quantity that it is prepared to not only ruin your entire computer experience but damage your system in a way that I believe is illegal, let alone immoral. It's a real pity that MP3Jam' business acumen falls so far short of its development capabilities, because the MP3 app itself is very good (other than it finding dubious recordings).... GET THIS EMBARASSMENT OFF YOUR CATALOGUE CNET/DOWNLOAD.COM until MP3Jam changes the app to (1) default the junkware to NOT install, i.e. only install upon user request (2) include a FULL and TRUE UNISTALL program that completely removes all trace of the adware app.

• Great way to download music

  -Free -Premium is worth it but unnecessary -Legal -A high quality mp3 of almost every song -Pretty well organized

  Cons

  -No visual customization, not big but I don't personally like the colors that much -Sometimes will not give you exactly what you are looking for -Not that great a music player, good for listening to albums before you download them and of course downloading them, but isn't for listening to music that you have

  I would definitely recommend this. Completely free and only $10 for premium. I would call this the best source of free music downloads.

  Did find song I was looking for.

  Cons

  They do charge for the service. I wanted to download a song and they wanted to charge me $9.99 to join. Also be careful downloading, they want to add on a lot of junk programs!

  Pros

  Very useful program to download single MP3s or whole albums. No ads, no toolbars, free and simple! I recommend to everyone.
