MP3 Boss allows you to easily/fully manage and play your music files. MP3 Boss includes integrated support for WinAmp, automatic scanning of MP3 tags (ID3v1, ID3v2, and Lyrics), extensive database functions (sorting, searching, filtering, reporting), general file management (rename, move or delete files even while that song is playing), file cleanup (detect exact or partial duplicates, and delete the songs you want), special functions (individually rate your songs, find filenames that will cause problems when you burn them to CD, listen to a 10s audio preview, set start and end play times), CD Label inserts, CD move utility, and user statistics. Easily manage all of your Napster, Gnutella, Newsgroup downloads and CD Rips. Full VBR support, automatic file move and rename, and automatically shows you your album covers as you scroll your music list. File AutoMove and file AutoRename will automatically move and/or rename your mp3 files using the Artist, Album, Title, Category information available in the database.

Outdated and flawed program

Pros
It has a promising feature list, to bad it doesn't live up to them.
Cons
- Bad designed and outdated interface - Slow file scanning. Over 3 minutes for 276 songs. - Did not recognize file deletions. Only fix was to clean the database and scan the directory again.
Summary
The first version of this program was released in 1999 and this is showing in every part. Basic user interface functions that you are used to in modern programs do not work, for example mousewheel does not work in all screens and sorting columns by clicking them is not supported. The last release was v0.683 in May 2010, over one year ago. It looks like support for this program is fading. The feature list is great, but some simple fixes won't rescue this program. To make it usable it would require a rewrite from scratch.

Very Confusing Existed for over ten years and is still medicore, and wierd interface. Uses Access db Slow
Summary
Tried loading a folder of about 100 songs, took over a minute, then displayed the files in a list which looked impressive at first glance but only showed the first iTunes comment preventing me from editing my proper comments and it didnt show all values that I had entered with another program Tried to do Puid scan but couldnt find where it was , and tried some other functions but found it very confusing.

Keeps track of my music whether on disk, cd, dvd, network, whatever. Updates ID3 tag data easily. Uses standard database technology - sort, search, filter your music many ways Playlists creation in Winamp
Cons
Takes a little learning, but after a while you will appreciate all the features.
Summary
I have 10,000 music tracks. MP3Boss helps me manage, view, sort, play, update tags, whatever I need to do.

It is great to manage your music selection,you have so many features you can enjoy any type of music any time. You can have your music filed in so many ways and supports many features.I like to fact that you can rank your music and artists
Cons
It takes a little time to get to know all the great features it has. But patience pays off greatly. One's you know how it works it it a great data manager

Viele Tools um die Mp3-Sammlung in den Griff zu kriegen. <p>Sehr gut zum aussortieren von Duplikaten und zum "Bewerten waehhrend dem Durchstoebern" <p>Die Updatewuensche werden beantwortet und beruecksichtigt:).
Cons
Will mans ganz ganz genau wissen, braucht es auch mit diesem Programm Zeit. <p>Dem kann man entgegenwirken, wenn beim Abspielen mit Winamp das Programm gleich im Hintergrund laeuft und nebenbei bewertet wird.
