Mixere is an open-source application for mixing WAV, AIFF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Flac, and Mod audio files. Mixere is ideal for live performance, and especially for multi-layered sound collages. It's like a rack full of CD players connected to an automated mixer. Features: dynamic looping/triggering of audio, automated volume, pan, and pitch sliders, soft (gradual) mute/solo, crossfading, snapshots, and unlimited undo.
Yes, it is very simple to use, but threw me off that the little red dots were actually sliders which were at zero volume and when hit play I heard nothing. All I had to do is move the sliders.
Cons
I was looking for mixing voice files that were in mp3, but those sounded garbled (therefore it is not fit for voice files, only for music files). I dd not see a slider where I could get a file started later than the other. Instead click play later.
Summary
The design is a set of horizontal lines with names on the left and controls for each line. You click play on the ones you want played out of the list and you can play them simultaneously. Very nice. Master volume, etc. No equalizer. Just play, pause, stop, and a few others at the master control.
love it..has all the simplicities that i am lookinf for
