MIME Edit for Windows

Quickly and easily add, edit, or remove Firefox MIME settings with this freeware add-on. MIME Edit's interface is a simple list of file types and short pop-up preference dialog boxes. Installing this app is quickly accomplished through Firefox. There is no Help file or operation manual, but any user familiar with changing Firefox settings will easily operate this add-on.

MIME Edit adds itself to the Firefox Tool menu. Invoking it opens a dialog listing all current file types recognized by Firefox. Merely select one with a click, then it's just one more click of a button to edit or remove the file type. Editing the file type is almost as quick and easy. You just enter the file type, description, and extension then choose from three options to handle that type file. The process is the same for adding new file types. This is a much easier operation than with Firefox's Content Options menu.

Every experienced Firefox user will appreciate the ease and simplicity of this add-on. MIME Edit may not be a tool to use every day, but it will simplify and speed up making those rare MIME changes.
