Summary
Every time I went to a Microsoft site, I would come across an advertisement for Silverlight and how it would it improve the quality of streaming videos. I downloaded Silverlight on 2 separate occasions. Both times I thought I was doing something wrong since I never saw any differences in the quality of the videos I was viewing and realized it was not working. I finally came to CNet to find out what others were saying about this product. I am happy I did. Had I done so sooner, I would have saved myself some time!

Downloaded for Olympics and still can't play NBC videos, tried all usual fixs, i.e. defeating AV, allowing NBC content, etc,etc. No joy <p> <p>Another MS marginal product

Its free if you agree to the EULA for Microsoft (better read VERY carefully), and nothing else.
Cons
This software expires on August 1st 2007. It is NOT compatible with Opera, Netscape, or Linux. Has lengthy and technical EULA, does not work on many sites, and Microsoft does NOT give the user full rights to use the software. Read the License Agreement VER CAREFULLY before downloading and installing. NOTE: IF YOU ACCEPT THE EULA, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE OR ANY WEBSITE according to the product EULA. However, Microsoft cannot enforce the product License Agreement according to the Terms And conditions of C|Net. Stick with Adobe ... you'll be better off and have true compatible software.
