Used MF Encryption Pad for Windows?
Editors’ Review
This very easy-to-use freeware tool operates quickly to encrypt or decrypt blocks of text. MF Encryption Pad's simple dialog-size interface is logically arranged, and easy to figure out. That's important, as the program's online Help manual no longer loads.
Operating MF Encryption Pad is as easy as dropping in some text. Type in a pass phrase, and press a button to encrypt your text. This app goes a little further than many freeware text-encryption tools. You can apply select-formatting commands to your text before encryption and have those values returned after decryption. The program uses familiar word processing icons to set italic, bold, or underlined text. It's also one-click simple to change font color, type, size, background, alignment, and indentation. Using the program's pull-down menu, you can easily save encrypted text in either an ASCII or RTF file.
Decryption is as easy. Enter your pass phase, drop in text encrypted by the tool, press a button and your text is restored. Again, it is easy to save the decrypted text in either RTF or plain ASCII. To protect your pass phrase you can choose to mask it with asterisks as you type.
MF Encryption Pad's only minor downside is that it isn't a portable app. Nevertheless, we recommend this simple encryption tool to anyone with the ability to copy and paste text.
