But this version, with Leopard and PSE6, works only intermittently. Sometimes the shortcut is there; a minute later it is grayed out.

It's back - and at least for me using a U.S. English system - it works as advertised. Now if I can just remember all these new command keys! :-P

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have never liked using the mouse - I have always preferred working directly off the keyboard - fast, and efficient. The ability to set one's very own menu bar short cuts "on the fly" - instantly, within almost any program, is just SO USEFUL. I can never remember the menubar key stroke shortcuts - these are so often DIFFERENT for different programs - forcing one to search through the menu bar drop down menu selection. Much MUCH easier and faster to use the keyboard shortcut directly. Being able to simply set/assign my own favourites - consistently across the programs I use - this is so NEAT. I have never had any problems with this haxie [versions of OS X up to 10.4.6] - and it even works with MS Office - something that was not possible under OS 7.6 using the NOW Utilities counterpart [gosh, that was a long time ago]. This software has a few bells and whistles - nice, but I don't use them - I simply make the settings I want as I go - so simple and easy and foolproof. five stars plus

Not only do they acknowledge any issues, they set forth to resolve said issues as well. What more can one want?

Being in Photoshop and able to hit a keyboard shortcut to open an often needed menu selection is pure fun. But it wreaks a bit of havoc on some other apps, namely Safari. After assigning a few shortcuts in it, Safari now has 5-10 second spinning wheels when selecting any menu item.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Menu Master now works with "old" Carbon apps like Photoshop 7 or AppleWorks. However there's still a problem with AppleWorks' menus because they change depending on the module you use. E.g. assigning a shortcut for the Tab... dialog window in the word processor completely breaks the Font submenu in the database module. The reason is most likely because Menu Master uses numerical index to assign the shortcut. Both the Tab... and the Font submenu are item 6 of menu 5. So for now I continue to use iKey from scriptsoftware.com for executing custom shortcuts in AppleWorks, because in iKey you can define the shortcuts to be identified by *full name* of the menu item instead of the index number. Like this the Font submenu in the database module will stay untouched. Still, a good update... :)

• Problems with Photoshop

I was so looking forward to establshing keystroke access to buried hierarchical menu commands in Photoshop that I paid my $10 without trying it out fully. Unfortunately, neither of the two commands I use most frequently in Photoshop (File/Automate/Batch and File/Import/Epson Twain) both register in Menu Master (meaning the shortcut shows un in the Menu Master preference pane as well as in the Photoshop pull-down menu) but nothing happens in Photoshop other than the File menu blinking. I tired to access buried hierarchical menu commands in MS Word (such as Insert/Break/Page Break) and that worked fine. If they fix this problem and the program works as advertised, I'd give it 5 stars.
