Used Media Pirate - The Video Downloader for Windows?
Editors’ Review
If we have one complaint about this freeware video file downloader, it is that it only works on certain sites. Media Pirate - The Video Downloader adds a small icon to your Firefox window. Surf to any site containing video and a quick glance at the icon lets you know if you can pull video files from the site. This browser add-on works with the some of the most popular video sites like YouTube and Google Video. However, there's no explanation why it won't work with many other sites that contain flash video. At least the icon immediately displays when you can or can't download files.
The add-on actually works as more of a shortcut to the publisher's site, but it couldn't be easier to use. Click the icon to open Media Pirate's Web site. Your video URL is displayed alongside a button to download the file. Instructions are provided on the page, but it's a simple process. It only saves files in the .FLV format, but there is also an effective file-converter option on the site that supports a number of file format options.
Any level user can install and use this freeware extension. Media Pirate - The Video Downloader may not do all of the work for you, but it does provide a quick method to download files from many popular files Web sites.
