  Limited number of page sizes and templates Table of contents does not have page numbers for recipes. Table of contents pages labeled 1,2,3 vice i,ii,iii.

  Summary

  This program is good for the beginner who does not have word processing skills. Final production is problematic if you desire anything other than the canned format. Data can be exported to Word but is unformated and the images are stripped out. The two page options are 1 recipe per page which leaves a lot of white space or continous which splits recipes across page boundries i.e. no orphan/widow control. Since the program is built on Access it could be a lot better.

• Inputting simple; formatting & printing a nightmare.

  I like the easy input and the fact you can add pictures. The birthday and biography section is a nice addition.

  Cons

  Printing is a nighmare. The software has no page breaks at this time so you have to do several returns and add a period. Therefore recipies, biographies do not line up well. You end up with a cookbook not evenly spaced. Final product blah.

  Summary

  Bottom line. I wished I would have purchased a program that could let you have as much information or as little information you want without having to continue to "tweek" what you like just so the final printout would look half way decent. At this time I would not recommned this software until they complete further updates. I realize you can't have everything in one single software program but as of yet this program does not have enough functions to end up with a nice finall cookboot.

  Want an easy cookbook software. Look no further. The Cookbook People have a wonderful and easy to use program called Matilda's Fantastic Cookbook Software. It is easy for beginners or the experienced computer person.

  Cons

  There is nothing I don't like about this product. I think it is great!

Please feel free to visit the site and explore the many wonderful products besides the Matilda's Fantastic Cookbook software. You can print out your cookbook to sit on the kitchen counter. You can also buy a cookbook stand from them for your cookbook! Your family and friends would love a copy of your cookbook, mine did! There are 27 different creative, cultural and religious choices for how your book will look. You can add an address book, a birthday calendar and a biography section to make it a complete reference tool. It's incredibly easy to learn (there are only three screens), because you want to be in the kitchen, not in front of a computer.

  Summary

  Usable software if you can tolerate the quirks and or okay with the decisions it makes for you. It does the job of formatting the recipes for you. That's good and bad. Control is mostly out of your hands. If you like that, this may work for you. But, if you are a Word power user or are comfortable doing your own page layouts, this software would frustrate you. If you abbreviate something, the period causes the next word to be capitalized. Ex: pkg of Cream cheese. If you try to correct the problem, the software changes it back. Another annoying "feature", is attempting to use their buttons for fractions. The software places the symbol after the last letter in your recipe, not at the cursor. Also, if you want your ingredients for a recipe in two columns, forget it. The software formats things the way it wants to, not the way you might.

  Pros

  I love the choices and the cookbook is great layout even beginners will have an easy time. The colors are great and if you do only the trial it will only let you do 10 recipes. You can even add pictures, hints, and you can cut and paste.

  Cons

  I don't like the company not having an 800 phone number for ordering as a lot of people will not buy through internet including me. I thought the price to buy was high $34.99. The 10 recipes I did do were great .

  Pros

  I like the symbol section; the different styles offered; the automatic save function. This is a good start, but would like to see it expanded to other funcions

  Cons

  I would like to be able to save multiple versions of cookbooks. This seems to only save the recipes entered as one cookbook. I would like to be able to select certain recipes for different books. I also would like to be able to have more versatility in text, colors and the ability to copy and paste.

  Seemed the right product until you actually download and use it.

  Very awkward to work with, contains minor bugs, does not allow user to remove the wwwcookbookpeople dot com off each page, if you use the scroller on your mouse, it clicks over to another screen. Help is okay if you ask a question they want to answer or have a good answer for; no responses if they don't have one. Even after you check off the splash screen not to show it anymore it does. Working with page formatting is very difficult, not much space for long recipe names or long recipes. Wish I could get my money back.

  I couldn't believe how easy it was to put together a cookbook that I could print from my own computer! I was able to build a cookbook with a birthday calendar, address book and family tree that just blew away anything you could imagine. <p>This is the only cookbooks software with 27 CHOICES of ways to print your cookbook. You aren't shoe-horned in to one design. <p>And the ease of use? I WISH my email or Word were designed to be that simple. <p>THANK YOU COOKBOOK PEOPLE! Exactly what I wanted.
