The purpose of this free Firefox add-on is to quickly and easily download and save video files from your favorite sites. While we wouldn't consider it magic, it does work well.

As soon as Magics Video Downloader is installed, a small, green arrow icon appeared in the status bar. The process is very simple. When you're on a page with a video, just click the program's icon. A pop-up window appears immediately, acknowledging the link to the video. Click download and the file is quickly saved as an FLV file. It doesn't include a player, though, so you'll have to have one already installed to use your files.

The program is simple and functional, which is just the way we like it. Novice users will be disappointed to find that there's not a Help feature, but ones really not needed. We recommend this free video downloader for all user levels.

Pros
Seems to work but only with a small selection of sites. The plugins I have used in Ubuntu can download anything.
Cons
I say it seems to work but I still can't find the folder where it is saving these videos. It doesn't go to my normal default download folder or to anything obviously named.
Summary
Forget this and save through Ubuntu if you have it.
Does not work with Firefox 3 or IE

Does not work with Firefox 3 and I could not download it as a program in Internet Explorer. The people who made this need to update it to modern technology!
