Lost Civilization for iOS

Pros

Good graphics and decent sounds: While Lost Civilization doesn't offer realistic graphics, on the iPhone's IPS the visuals are OK. The background music and ambient sounds are minimal but good enough.

Useful hints and customizable difficulty level: You can get a hint for every challenge or puzzle in the game. The challenges are not really that difficult, but for younger players, the hints can always come in handy. If you find the game too easy, there's the option to go for the higher difficulty level, which takes away the hint button on the lowermost right portion of the screen and disables the highlighting of important objects in the game.

Compatibility with older iOS versions: The game can be played even on devices that still use iOS 4.3.

Cons

Large game file: You have to download a 493MB file to install this game on your device.

Hackneyed storyline and mostly senseless mini-games: Consider putting logic on the back burner as you deal with the puzzles and play along with the game's cheesy plot. For instance, you have to go through a book balancing puzzle just to get a yarn ball needed to distract a cat.

Bottom Line

Despite Lost Civilization's massive file size, it's only an average game at best with an overused story and game elements. Still, it costs only $4.99, so you should give it a go, provided that you're not already playing something more interesting.
