We appreciate this nature-themed screensaver s user-customization options, but it unfortunately falters in other areas. Even though the program is called Lions and Tigers, we only saw pictures of the former creature. Perhaps this is because the demo limits you to a measly three pictures. The images themselves show lions roaring, drinking, and caring for their young, but the quality of the photos is only average. One of the first things we did was to turn off the audio, which consists of extremely cheesy MIDI music and unauthentic lion roars. Still, we can t fault this program s feature set, which lets you tweak the behavior and speed of the transition effects; determine the interval between images; add or remove borders; and decide in what order the shots should appear. On the downside, we really wish this program asked permission before it added extra shortcuts to your desktop. Lions and Tigers shows promise, but it s nothing to roar about in its current form.
