LightWav allows you to associate any uncompressed wav file, mp3 or ogg (requires PocketTunes) file to any application. When the application's alarm is triggered, LightWav will play the sound file from the external card and then let the application sound the alarm. LightWav works with all applications with alarms. The MIDI files are OK but they very quiet and don't have very good sound quality. LightWav lets you use any MP3 or Wav file for an alarm or ringtone. Customer support is A1. For what this program does and what it turns your Treo into, $16.95 is a very fair price. Buy it! You'll love it!!!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />It works as billed, no problems yet. It is fun programming the ringtones to various mp3s, there are lots of ways to do it. You can program individual appointments or contacts with individual mp3 alarms or ringtones respectively. Overall, a well designed and well thought out piece of software. I have not had a reason to contact the technical assistance, so cannot comment there. The only major complaint I have is that the program is a little pricey. One minor complaint is that the Treo keyguard cuts off the alarm after about 15 seconds, so you cant just let a favorite song play for very long. Treo Butler which is supposed to also do MP3 alarms, has a bug in it, which delays ringtones too long, at least this is my experience. however Treo butler does have an alternative keyguard setting which prolongs the ringtone for around 30 seconds, so you can hear your calls or alarms better. So I guess I am saying that the two programs work well together.
