Language Reader takes advantage of existing speech technologies, provides a richer on-screen reading experience with multilingual voices enabled. Supported voices are English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Japanese, Korean. You can select text using your mouse, and hear the selected text being read by pressing a key on your keyboard. Version 2.01 added support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

Pros
With downloads you can get all the languages modules for a good start to get the basics of the pronunciations. I tried some of the languages and at some basic words you can't really here out that it'll be unknown what the end will be. The download makes it easier to avoid licenc problems with Microsoft (all the characters - and etc. - are from Microsoft). If you already got Office 97 - or windows 2000, i'm not sure -, you might already got the little agents (search for. *.acs files). <p>For later usage, you can save your texts into Text/RichText formats. If you look around, you'll find out that this program got some functions from Wordpad (bold, italic, etc.). <p>It's free, give it a try.
Cons
The help is only available in online form and that's too short. I couldn't find Microsoft EULAs, etc. <p>Right at start you must download a package to get the program to work (without this, you might got error message): no confirm messages for this, but i think this is only the MS Agent Components what you can download by clicking Tools/Install Ms Agent Components. Find&Replace got the some shortcat as the Read function, if nothing else, then at least weird... <p>It won't remember your choosen agent/language. <p>The replace function's case sensitivity isn't working well. <p>After uninstall, it won't delete downloaded files from it's directory (and won't uninstall the installed packages). I wasn't sure in rates (but it's freeware, comes with no costs and i couldn't find easier application for 0 money).
