It is a time long ago, and magic and myth are embodied in every living creature roaming the world. Unicorns graze in forest meadows, wizards concoct mystical spells, and kings and queens manage thriving kingdoms. An evil being has summoned a spell to break the Mask of Eternity--the global icon of truth, light, and order--and a piece falls to Earth and is discovered by you, a youth called Connor. You pick it up, and everyone else in the kingdom turns to stone. You must gather strength and courage and set out to reseat the Mask of Eternity and restore law, light, and order to your world.

Unlike traditional 2D adventure games of the past, this third-person-viewed 3D game allows you to peek around any corner, push and pull objects, open doors, wade into rivers and lakes, and even fight with other characters. But make no mistake, Mask of Eternity is not a shoot-'em-up game. The open environment allows you to live the unfolding story, even if you need to fight your way past evil characters to advance the story.

This (much larger) demo is closer to the eventual final release of the game, according to Sierra.

Kings Quest Series truly fun and entertaining. The demo is ok but the full game will show you why you will really love the game. If you want a game with a sense of humor and cute graphics and storyline get into all the Kings quest games. I hope Sierra will bring it back again.

I've been a huge fan of the King's Quest series for several years now, and own the previous seven installments to series and I was excited about this one, but it is a serious let down. The puzzles that made the series famous are almost non existent, the level designs are uninspired, and the controls are terrible. The battles are awkward, and there are way too many jumping puzzles, which are incredibly difficult due to the previously mentioned terrible controls. I haven't heard anything about a next King's Quest, but if there is, please return the series back to its roots.

This game is one of my favorites. The only bad comment I have to say is......NOTHING!! I have played all of the kings quests games and have beat most of them. If you have I recomend you play this game.

My brother and I bought the game separately and we liked it because it has a great story that develops well through the game. We had to load patches for the game to run in the middle of it.Just before the end, when you are ready to do battle with the bad guy; the game freezes and there is no patch for it. I called, mailed and begged Sierra to fix it. and they never did. Sooo!!!! don't get it.
The graphics quality is amazingly primitive.

I was very disappointed. It took almost 4 hours to download a game I can't even stand to look at. The only other thing is the hero's voice is one of the most annoying I have ever heard.
