Jr. Vet for Windows

This educational game aims to teach kids the basics of veterinary science. In Jr. Vet, the player wanders an animal hospital collecting implements such as antiseptics, inoculations, bandages, and splints. Behind certain doors, tykes will find a sick animal and a friendly talking vet who explains what's wrong with the creature.

It's the player's job to figure out how to make the animal better by clicking the correct item in the medical bag. Children are sure to like the colorful, cartoon-style graphics and pleasant music, though it would be nice to have the option to disable the latter.

Still, parents will appreciate a few of Jr. Vet's features, which include three difficulty levels and the ability to further tailor gameplay by selecting the age bracket their kid falls into. If your child loves animals and is under the age of eight, we think this nonviolent game can simultaneously amuse and teach.
