Take yourself back to mythical times in this role-playing fantasy game.
Jewel of Arabia is a role-playing game that uses animation, turn-based combat, a sophisticated monster AI as a top-down 3D view, and a button-driven interface to help you immerse yourself in a fantastic realm. Dreamers, the first game in this saga, takes you back to the original myths and legends that have inspired all of human civilization. Journey with the unarmed and mystical Sufi, the elusive and deadly Hash-shashin, and the legendary, immortal Djinn. Join forces with the beleaguered Satyr, fighting off the aggressive, newly arrived Mino. Take a side in the bitter civil war dividing the Equine, and help end their bloody destruction. Finally, meet members of the tragic Sandman civilization, a once great society now facing grievous ruin. The game includes more than 100 spells and meditations and a context-sensitive language parser. This latest version fixes a critical bug in the previous release.
I have enjoyed playing this game since the 90's. The graphics are clean and fun, reminiscent of Legend of Zelda on NES. It's a turn-based adventure game, which I enjoy very much. In a world of WOW-era overblown MMORPGs, it's nice to have a game that doesn't tie up my entire system and gobble all the resources or insist that I have to concentrate 100% on the game lest I get a sword in the back.<p>Maybe the reason the previous reviewer thinks it seems like a DOS game from 1989 is because it's an OLD game. I mean, come on! It requires System 7! That's like a Windows computer game requiring DOS to run! Just because it was added in 2003 doesn't mean it was created in 2003! Duh.
