iSale is a Mac application that simplifies the listing and managing of auctions on eBay. One of the many features of iSale is that you can use beautiful templates to create money-making auctions. iSale is an eBay Certified Application and won the Apple Design Award 2006 in the most competitive category
As good as the previous versions? So far, I had no chance to test it.
Very strange bugs, Equinux chooses to ignore

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I can only agree with the other posters that have observed some strange behaviour within the iSale editor.
There are quite a few bugs - the one that annoys me most is the totally untypical text selection behavior. You simply CANNOT select text from right to left, ie. click after a word and select backwards to the left. I don't know of any other Mac or PC application that has this basic functionality broken.
I reported this to Equinux support some time ago, what they wrote back basically amounts to "We know".
All in all, I wouldn't pay money for this app (got it as part of a bundle). If Equinux only would finally get their act together and fix this otherwise promising product....
welcome to hell/isale

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Hi, I purchased isale several years ago and have gone through several pay upgrades. Sadly isale has always been more of a hindrance than a help. It's extremely slow with more than a ton of glitches that the geniuses over at equinox never seem to iron out even after updates and paid upgrades. It's like you never get the full usable product that you pay for or that you were led to believe get when purchasing. It seems to be to be more of a total fraud than anything. At this point it appears they have almost completely abandoned any focus doing anything to repair or improve things. isale has no option for item detail specifics that are now common on many ebay listings. I have to revise individually every item through ebay after listing and this takes twice as much time. Which time is what I thought isale was supposed to save me and that is just one of the minor issues. Of course I let them know this over at equinox over a year or two ago but they did nothing to fix it. The worst thing is how slow it is and how when you click on one of your prepared auction tabs it skips around to other tabs and sits there and spins and does nothing and it takes forever to get back to the item you want to upload or prepare. Earlier tonight it took me 40 minutes to list one item. I would really like all the money back that I have sunk into this through the years and I wish the people profiting from this would be arrested for fraud. I am now looking for a true upstanding listing tool if there is one out there for mac. At the time I purchased isale it was the only thing out there. Skip the isale and save yourself a major headache is my personal opinion and best advice. If anyone knows of a good listing tool Please let me know. Thanks!
This product sucks... NO SUPPORT!

Pros
The program functions fairly well, until....after a couple of months, an authentication token error message appears and the program goes dead.
Cons
The company absolutely will not answer emails... even an entry on the CEOs blog got no response. There is no support for this product and eBay claims they have no control. This product cost me a LOT of money by failing while trying to post auctions.
Summary
This company absolutely sucks... They are arrogant and unresponsive... Good place to lose a lot of money...

iSale has gone downhill with recent updates

<i>I am using iSale 5.2.1 on an iMac (3.06 GHz, 4 GB) running Mac OS X 10.5.4 "Leopard". I am a casual eBay user, selling only a few items per year.</i>
</p>
<p>
iSale was a pretty good product years ago (back when it won two "Apple Design Awards" and received a good review from MacWorld). It worked well for me back in the day too. However, based on my experience with recent iSale updates over the past year, iSale has gone downhill.
</p>
<p>
<b>Bugs</b>
</p>
<p>
There are several bugs that leave me not trusting the program.
</p>
<p>
For example, the iSale editor (the part of iSale that is supposed to make attractive web pages for your auctions based on HTML templates) is pretty buggy. I found that my cursor kept jumping around at seemingly random times. Also, iSale would strip out the links of my hyperlinks (leaving just the text) when I cut-and-pasted them to different places on the page.
</p>
<p>
Even without the bugs, there is basic functionality that is missing. For example, the inability to make lists or simple tables. <b>Overall, the editor was quite frustrating for me to use.</b>
</p>
<p>
As another example, the "Auction List" along the left of the application is broken. I have created one auction, but every time I quit and re-start iSale a new "Auction Group" is created with either 6, 7 or 8 auctions. So, even though I have only 1 real auction, I currently have 105 auctions in 15 auction groups without the ability to delete them (the "-" button, which is supposed to let you delete an auction group, is disabled).
</p>
<p>
The "Auction List" is also supposed to help you keep your auctions organized as well as show you the "next steps" for each stage of your auction. However, these options are only shown for the "Archive" library (which is empty), and not shown at all for the "My Auctions" library.
</p>
<p>
<b>Out of date with eBay</b>
</p>
<p>
iSale is supposed to be a friendly interface over the often confusing (for me, anyway) and busy eBay web pages. It was the promise of an "easy interface" that originally attracted me to iSale. However, iSale appears to be programmed to an eBay circa 2006. Today's eBay (mid-2008) has either different or updated functionality that confuses iSale. <b>I found that I had to use the eBay web site to correct mistakes made by iSale.</b>
</p>
<p>
As a simple example of how out-of-date iSale has become with respect to eBay's current functionality, take shipping options.
</p>
<p>
iSale wouldn't submit my auction until I filled out "International Shipping Options". I didn't want to ship internationally, which is a legitimate eBay option, but iSale didn't offer this option. The workaround was to fill in bogus international shipping information into iSale so that I could submit my auction to eBay, and then use the eBay web site to correct the information (in my case selecting "No International Shipping").
</p>
<p>
<b>Conclusion</b>
</p>
<p>
I cannot recommend iSale. The product was good back in the day, but Equinux (the company who makes iSale) has neglected this product and appears to be riding the "two Apple Design Awards and favorable MacWorld review" positive press they received several years ago as long as they can without doing anything to fix basic bugs or keep the product fresh and up-to-date with current eBay functionality.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This program was decent early on by the later version have become more crash prone.
The bigger problem is with the company itself than with the software. If you buy from them just know ahead of time that you WILL NOT get any tech support of any substance, AND that the software is going to be LOCKED to your computer. Install the app, request a serial # that will only work once. Get a new computer, beg for a new working number, and wait for a response with a non-working app.
iSale a lot of Hype no substance

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I purchased this as an upgrade to Elister I wanted prettier templates and a slicker format. Support for stores and item specifics was important to me. What I got was a joke, while the templates are pretty the rest of the program is overly cumbersome adding a lot of features no sane seller will ever have time to utilize. The biggest problem is image management module, iSale touts the ease with which it uploads pictures. Big problem - Anybody that sells more than a dozen items a year will have problems managing images since iSale renames every file with long string of numeric gibberish. If you are self hosting or a running a store this will be a nightmare.
Support is a almost non-existent, email support never addresses all questions and phone support is only available on Tuesday

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I used to hve iSale 4 and it worked fine for me.
It was really good.
The new version 5 is really bad, though, and it was an expensive upgrade, too!
I paid 19â?¬ to have a program that is crashin EVERY time while transferring the auction to ebay and transferringthe pictures to picasa.
Excellent.
Apart from that, also the design process is faulty.
iSale 5 occasionally looses the pictures in the auction draft.
I had to put in the same pictures 4-5 times while editing and switching between ebay view and draft view.
I hope they will fix this problem very quickly, because otherwise this program is worth nothing.
iSale - for sale! Better donâ??t buy it â?¦

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I used iSale for about 50 auction und then tried eBay itself again. A wonder! Same time to publish!! Isale don NOT save time for me. it is useless therefore.
But the biggest disappointment: the update to the newest version is much too expensive!!
Better invest in another program and spend 10 $$ more for a full and better new prgramm than to upgrade - what? Slow-iness?? Bad user-interface??
Keep off!
