Editors’ Review
If you posses artistic leanings but can't actually draw or paint, then the Interactive Dali Screensaver might be the next best thing. The program takes it basis from one of the Spanish surrealist artist's most famous paintings, "Dream Caused By The Flight Of A Bee." Even if you're not well versed in modern art, you've probably seen the painting before (it's the one where two tigers lurch out from the sky over a reclining nude figure).
This program contains more than thiry variations on this basic theme, all of which switch the painting's main elements in some way. But the application's real innovation is it lets you reconfigure the characters and scenery yourself. For example you can add in additional marching elements, rotate the nude figures, or place more tigers in the scene. The trial version disables the save option, but you'll probably still be able to get an idea of whether this screensaver is worth paying for. The graphic representation of the painting looks quite accurate and detailed, though the ability to add your own theme music is a welcome addition. We also wish Interactive Dali Screensaver let you watch its offerings in a full-screen view rather than the three-quarters view you're given. Still, any fan of Salvador Dali or surrealist art in general will probably find this screensaver a good pickup.
