If you're reading this review, you probably already know you need a program like Intelliscore Polyphonic Wav to Midi Converter (PWMC). But do you need this one? It's tough to say. In theory, PWMC takes sound from almost any source and converts it to the MIDI format.

It can accept music directly from a MIDI instrument, a CD, a cassette, an MP3 or WAV file, or even from a microphone. In automatic mode, it processes music with just a little help (you beat the tempo). Unfortunately, this feature didn't produce good results in our tests, even with simple piano pieces. Moreover, the trial version only converts the first 15 seconds of any piece, making it hard to judge the output quality.

It's obvious Intelliscore Polyphonic Wav to Midi Converter might come in handy for amateur musicians, karaoke fiends, and Web designers--but that's assuming it works as promised, and we're not sure it does.

BUYER BEWARE! THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK

NONE: This product can not take an MP3 and split out any of the instrumental lines in any usable recognisable way.
Cons
The trial version is not fit for purpose. With the trial version you are only able to analyse 15 measly seconds of material. I made the mistake of purchasing the full version. Nearly &#163;100 the poorer for it. They will not refund you if you are not happy with the product. They do not respond to emails asking for support or refunds. The support they give is generic and does not address your specific problem. If you purchase this hoping that you can analyse and pick out lines of music - IT CAN'T.
Summary
This product is a sham. It can't score out separate lines of instruments from an MP3 and certainly can't pick out any lines no matter what combination of instruments you try to input into the software. It looks old and dated and is very complex. If you aren't happy YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND EVEN IF YOU BUY WITH A CREDIT CARD. This is because it is software and even if the product isn't fit for purpose, you won't be refunded. This is an expensive mistake to make.

a 60 second conversion would be better, but I understand that they need to sell their full product - not much of a CON!

still not perfect, but makes transcribing a piece easier - I get frustrated with doing it all manually

I am a music teacher...not enough time to transcribe any more, this will save me enormous amount of time. With this software I can learn pieces I love faster.

I used this on a simple (one instrument) tune and though I could generally recognize the midi, it wasn't even close to enough detail to be worth the price. WAY overpriced and useless. Don't do it.

Its cool that I can put a cd in my computer and Intelliscore tells me the notes and chords

Accuracy seems to degrade when there are alot of drums

Its a DEMO version that has limitation to convert only first 15 seconds of your audio track. It asks you with which instrument to convert the track into. Trust me the output is way too ugly.

It costs money while i have another program that doesnt, yet sound the same as the 10 secs i get from this. I don't know what to do and i want to play "Wake up Call" by Phil Collins as an alarm on my cell phone that only accepts Midi files to do that

The software is not perfect. I was able to get a rough idea of the notes from a song with only piano. I guess the piece is pretty complex and that's why it only grabbed part of the notes.
